'Survive to 25' was a common phrase in the sector and wider industry as we headed into 2024.  Commentary from peers, suppliers and customers reinforce just how hard 2024 was, but I am so proud to be able to say that against the backdrop of both weather and the economy, in my mind 2024 was one of our most successful years ever, even though we did not achieve financial targets.  

Amidst merchant insolvencies, national merchant profit warnings, and depressing sentiment, we made healthy sales and profit figures, maintained market share and entered 2025 with enviable momentum.

 The video above 'Review of 2024' was first played at our managers conference in February 2025, and is a summary of our performance which I'd urge you to look at.  Be proud of what we achieved.

The first two months of 2025 were difficult, and whilst the market remains challenging, we have seen positive signs of improvement in both March and April.

Please keep your focus on the basics: 

• Obsess about stock
• Be close to our customers and provide them with superb service
• Make sure you engage with the training that is available to help you develop and be the best you can
• Use the tools available: both the within the functionality of Bistrack, but also the marketing and promotions.
